Food choices

Do you offer food options to your toddler or do you just serve them something without asking. I feel like we are giving him too much choice cause he is starting to not want a lot of foods cause he can communicate what he wants...feeling like I should be more strict with what I offer

If I know she won’t have what we’re having I give 2 choices that usually works and she eats what she has picked

Options at supermarket when we do food shop, options for snacks. No choice on dinners. Sometimes on lunch, depends if we’re organised.

I offer a this or that, that way she has choice within reason. Example "would you like your ham in a wrap or a sandwich" toddlers like to feel in control and I find she eats better this way. I let her choose her crisps for her lunchbox from a small selection too. I wouldn't just ask what do you want for lunch though as she'd be overwhelmed by choice. X

I normally just ask him. Normally ask if he’s hungry and then ask what he wants. He doesn’t always tell me so I will give ideas. I can usually tell based on the time of the day whether it’s “big hungry” or “little hungry”. If it’s a snack I’ll give him choices. If it’s dinner he’ll normally just have what we’re having.
