Tax-free childcare

Its usually from the start of the month after you get confirmation but you can also find it on the account page usually.

£2000 topped up over the course for the year in 4 increments. I’ve not 100% if I’m correct in this but I’ve counted it as 1) Sept, Oct & November 2) December, Jan & Feb 3)March, April & May 4)June, July & August I’m only going by this as in August it said I had x amount for this period (which I didn’t use) then in Sept it’s auto renewed to £500 Then you have to reconfirm you entitlement every 3 months, for both the tax free and the funded hours

Thanks everyone. We’re about to increase our nursery days so will spend more from next month. We haven’t used our full entitlement for this period and I think it’s about to end, so what I’m trying to work out is if we should top up before the entitlement period ends so that we max out what we can get? Even though we won’t need to pay nursery straight away? Because in future we’ll need the whole entitlement amount so don’t want to miss out if we can help it!

Honestly yes I would top it up. In hindsight I wish I topped up at the end of August before it renewed in September just so it can sit in the account for when it’s really needed.
