Christmas party food

Help! I have got to select what food I want for the Christmas party, are any of these starters “safe” options? Would it be weird to ask to have no starter, I don’t think I would have told anyone by then as not even had my first midwife appointment yet, I’m 8 weeks today. 🙈 Chicken and smoked ham hock terrine Camembert, fig and red onion Tartlet Goats cheese croton parcel Cold meat board Pastrami, Choritzo, Salami, Cured ham.

I’m not sure any of those are “safe” for pregnancy. I know you aren’t meant to have Camembert, cured meats like pastrami/ham/chorizo or salami. I’m not 100% on the terrine but I would think maybe not? Xx

You can have Camembert when cooked, it’s perfectly safe. Alternatively, just say you don’t like any of the options so won’t have a starter.

Camembert is safe when cooked through. Goats cheese also fine if pasteurised. Avoid the cold meat board. Smoked ham would probably be okay as a one-off x

If you aren't planning on telling anyone by then, you could order whatever and then just say you don't like it.

Any of the first three are fine 😊

I would say the cooked cheese ones are okay.

Ngl I’ve been eating ham since the start of my pregnancy and I’m now 9 weeks.. didn’t know it wasn’t allowed. I thought it meant pepperoni and stuff 😂

@Kirsty i think normal ham is fine? it's more like chorizo etc
