New mom anxiety

I have a 6 month old son who is ready to start food. We got approval from his pediatrician, I got baby food home made/grown and store bought as well. I know about the food safety (signs of choking, what to do if choking occurs, how much to feed, how often to feed, when to feed, time between trying new foods, etc.) and we have been practicing with an empty spoon. He seems way ready, and everyone has been encouraging to start him on the food. But I'm SO hesitant.... Idk if it's the fear of blow out, choking, allergies, just new mom fears... Or if I'm in denial of him growing up and not needing mommy milk at some point.... Has anyone else experienced this hesitation? Any tips or tricks to help encourage ME to get him started?

I felt the same and I started off with purees just one spoon then built it up when i saw her enjoying it. You'll be fine mama goodluck

I had the same issue mostly fear driven however that she would choke and I wouldn’t be able to help her. Start off slow with a little it doesn’t have to be a lot, pick something that doesn’t make you too nervous.

We started weaning early due to reflux so she started with basic puree (single vegetable) from about 4 months, then gradually increased to the 6 month jars. She's now on the 7 month jars (she's 6 months now) with the chunkier bits in it. She also has porridge for breakfast. I tend to give her a bit of what I'm eating (like a bit of toast) so she gets to learn different textures. I totally understand the stress but tbh I've found the best way is not to overthink it! 💗

Try some purrees. You can mix breast milk or formula with a creamy purree. But personally I found BLW (baby led weaning) to be such much easier. Babies are resilient. But make sure and be aware of the stress and faces your putting on when your nervous. Like if you baby coughs on food and we gasp and run over this can cause them to become nervous with food.
