@Cheryl yeah I’ve been trying like he will snack or he will eat fries but he use to eat literally everything and one day he just became uninterested. He drinks water and he can eat but so picky. And idk if it has anything to do with him having an allergic reaction around that time he’s allergic to tomatoes and I wasn’t aware that bbq sauce had it in there but recently also he’s had an allergic reaction to an unknown ingredient . So he has an appointment with an allergist next week so hopefully I can ask a few questions there too
Okay sounds like fear and avoidance the Doctor should have picked up on this . I would advice keep giving him formula until his anxiety reduces . If you knew your son had a tomato allergy , avoid assuming somethings do not have tomatoes ingredient in it . Be proactive read ALL ingredients. As for food , try giving him “ free from “ food . At this stage just keep offering what he will eat . Starvation and dehydration for the sake of good nutrition is not a good look when someone is in the hospital. This will be difficult but keep your head up and feed whatever he will have .
I disagree with the Doctor , formula as least allows him to have some fluids and some nutrition. Deprive him of that he will be dehydrated and that’s far worse trust me . The Doctor should have referred to the nutritionist!! Get a second opinion please there a safety concerns here !!!! Has the baby been orally assessed anything that could cause him to to eat ? Do not force , high risk of aspiration- too many death cases related to force feeding . Finally what you eat try and offer it to him !! For a long time my plate was my kids plate but make sure I mashed up anything that may cause a choke hazard !! Message me if you need help x
