Has anyone just bypast their boss and gone straight to HR to inform them of maternity leave date

Because that’s what I did today. Don’t have a great relationship with my boss, rarely speak to each other. No support from her with my first born either. I emailed HR directly and Ccd her into it that’s good enough right?!

To be honest I don’t see any issue with that, my boss only went and told HR anyway and then HR dealt with the rest of it so it saves everyone time and saves you the difficulty of talking to your boss directly! Xx

😅 thanks @Niamh hopefully they don’t see an issue with it either. It’s up to us what date we go on maternity after all. Didn’t want my boss having any input on it what so ever after the experience I had with my boss with my first born I thought I would bypass her as I was advised to do this by someone high up in my HR dept since the last time x
