Toddler hiking

Hi ladies! I need some Hiking gear help. I have 2 year old, and I adore hiking! She loves being outdoors but obviously needs some help from time to time. I miss going in big hikes and really want to get back into it. I’ve tried a hiking backpack carrier by LuvdBaby from Amazon and OMG it just hurt so bad! My back can’t handle that thing. I would suggestion on carries that can hold a 2 year old comfortably

We have the Deuter Kid Comfort carrier and it’s been awesome. I’m 5’6, about 135 and my husband is 6’ about 205 and we can both adjust it (easily) to use for our son. He’ll be 2 in January but is about 35” and 30lbs right now. The carrier is expensive so I was hesitant at first but a friend recommended it and for us it has been worth it. Just be warned - he falls asleep in it almost every time bc he’s so cozy so we have to work around that for naps! 🤪

I think we had a deuter one which was a HUGE contrast to my ergo 360 or a woven wrap I’ve got a short torso or something so I didn’t love how restricted my neck felt (I did have it adjusted for my height but I needed it lower… I’m 5’8” so I’m not tiny) my partner had no issues with it and he’s 6ft but we only got to use them for a few months because my 2yr old weighed out too fast But it was great being able to do longer than 3 miles with good pace which we hadn’t been able to do with the toddlers

Osprey poco was great but it’s still not the most comfortable on longer hikes. Longest I went was 6 miles with it on. Eventually it starts wearing on your shoulders but definitely recommend it to get you back out there. Or your favorite soft structured carrier with a giant fanny pack. Happy hiking 🫶

There's something called trail majik that attaches to a hiking backpack. It's a front carrier that supports the kid when they are tired. Honestly there's some structured carriers that are sturdy that will definitely last for people and hikes

Idk if you have REI close but go try some on. I love the osprey poco plus, others love deuter or Kelly. I also love my kinderpack
