@Taryn Hodgkins I’m glad it’s not just us then but it’s so frustrating and idk what to do to get her to eat 😫 she won’t even eat chicken nuggets or fish fingers and things it’s a nightmare
@Jess We’re exactly the same, so yes, it most definitely isn’t just your little one. I know they go through this stage at around this age, so it should pass, but I don’t know when that would be😣 A few days ago, I made Ava a cottage pie and after like a good 40 minutes the only way she would even try it was just sitting on her dad’s lap whilst HE ate it. THEN she ate the other half. But bloody hell, it’s SO frustrating, so I feel you 100%! I’m so impatient, which absolutely doesn’t help the situation
@Taryn Hodgkins im the same i get too impatient and i know i need to try be more patient but its hard. I always said im not going to force her to eat anything she doesn’t want to but I just wish she’d even try it and if she didn’t like it then fine but she wont even try food. Even if she’s had it loads before and liked it she suddenly just refuses to even touch it 😫
@Jess Honestly, we’re in the exact same boat. I wish I had something to suggest, but I don’t because we’re struggling equally. I worry that my little girl will lose weight because she’s naturally small as it is (she was at birth and I’m also only petite myself). Hang in there, hopefully both LO’s start to become less fussy again x
@Taryn Hodgkins makes me feel slightly better that it’s not just me doing something wrong. My girl is small but chunky but she’s also still in 12-18m clothes only just going into 18-24 so I do worry she’s not growing enough 😫
@Jess Ava is only just going into 18-24 too😁 They’re all so different. As I say, refusing food is very common at this age. I watched my niece go through it and my mum had ALWAYS warned me about it x
@Taryn Hodgkins ah that’s good to know. I think my second baby is going to be the same tbf she’s 10 weeks old and still in first size clothes🙈😂 fingers crossed it passes quickly for us both
We’re surviving on chicken nuggets, potato bites, apples and weetabix over here 🥲 oh and toast! I’m praying it’s just a phase xx
@Jade same, and grapes!
In my experience it can change from day to day. For a while she loved pasta, now she’s not into it anymore.. she was off brocoli for a while and yesterday she asked for extra .. it’s so hard to follow. The only constants are rice, fruit and eggs
@Marie definitely find it changes constantly. It’s so annoying as I’ll find something she’ll eat and then the next day she won’t like touch it😫constants for us are potato, fruit and eggs
Mines always been pretty good with her food but recently has started rejecting things she once loved. She's a total fruit freak and eats that until the cows come home! In terms of veg I like to make it into a sauce then put it over something else. Her favourite right now is gnocchi and I do her a pesto, spinach and pea sauce and she LOVES IT. Gone in seconds. So maybe just trying hiding it in other things? She does have off days too, sometimes she doesn't want to touch food and sometimes she wants all the food. I think it's normal to fluctuate
AWFUL! Ava hasn’t been 100% for a while, but I do think that she’s just being fussy. She’s only wanting fruit or snacks at the minute. She’ll eat breakfast and she’d eat toast if I was to offer it at lunch/dinner, but she’s become EXTREMELY difficult x
