I have a 3 year old and she's a good eater, doest shove food in her mouth

@Becky I have a 12 month old and he eats pretty good but will shove food into their mouth like crazy

My 20 month old has a tendency to shove as much food as he can fit in his mouth. There have been times I've caught him literally holding the food in with his hands while he tried to chew 😂 We have to remind him to take bites and he's doing better, but he still usually needs the reminder when he starts eating.

@Lacy yes that’s exactly what he does too! He’s always having to hold it in his mouth to chew😭

Picks at food and eats the tiny bits under his nails….the picky phase is killing me!

@incog My older son did it too and thankfully grew out of it when he was about 2/2 and a half. I'm hoping my toddler does the same. Just keep doing your best to reinforce it and demonstrate taking bites of food and hopefully with time he'll start to figure it out

2-3 reasonable bites then shoving the whole thing in his mouth. Our magic word is “chew” and “NOT THE WHOLE THING ALL AT ONce”
