This practice, the OB are all women and so are all other staff. I also had my baby delivered in Rockyview by emergency c section and I had a great experience. It does depend on the nurses care. I was lucky enough to have my own room. With that being said, it can be super busy and loud at times and the food is awful! Hope that helps and good luck with your pregnancy.
Don’t go to Rockyview the nicu nurses suck
I had my first at Rockyview. I was under the care of midwives so maybe this changed the experience but all the nurses who were there were nice. Food was mediocre but all hospital food sucks. My midwife said the postpartum recovery rooms were “so much bigger” (aka room for a single chair instead of just the bed in the curtained area I guess hah) than the ones at foothills in case that’s a factor
@Lindsey thanks Lindsey that’s helps 🤗
@Emiline thanks Emiline where did you find your midwife? She was the same during the whole pregnancy/ post partum?
I applied through the Ab midwife site, there are some that practice solo but I believe they aren’t covered and you’d need to pay out of pocket (unless they work solo under a clinic). I was with briar hill for both babies. Same team for pregnancy and postpartum, they are your medical care professionals for all prenatal appts, the birth, and up to 6 weeks postpartum.
If you’re interested in midwifery care, apply as soon as possible! And to as many clinics you’re open to travelling to as they fill up quick, knowing that they come to you for birth (you can still choose to go to the hospital or birth centre, you don’t have to have a home birth if you don’t want to) and do home visits postpartum https://www.alberta-midwives.ca/request-care
@Emiline thanks for all this 😊😊
