Refusing to wean!

Mums, please some advice! Since 6 months old, I’ve been trying to wean my first baby boy. We are now on 9 months, and he is continuing to refuse any form of solids! Whether it’s puree, finger food, he turns his head and grizzles! He refuses to open his mouth, now and again will try things like yoghurt but nothing else! I’ve tried homemade and pouches. I’ve tried messy play, feeding different locations, timings, eating with me - everything! He takes milk fine! Is this normal and has anyone else experienced this? Thank you in advance!

No advice but I'm in a similar boat 😓

I think by this point I would speak to the health visitor and ask about getting some specialist support, because of waiting list times etc. But hopefully it will just click for him soon! Sounds very stressful and like you:re DJing all the right things- he's a lucky boy to have you as him mum.

My LB was like this around 7mo and showed little to no interest and my HV recommended beginning to reduce the oz of milk and offering food before milk throughout the day. I found this helped❤️

My LO was like this until 8months, I felt like I was trying everything and everyone would give advice but I felt like I was already trying all the advice. The only thing that started to work for us was starting the day with breakfast instead of milk (you might do this/ have already done this) but it slowly started to click and then click for other meals too. You’re doing great and he’ll get there!

Baby at this age needs around 21oz of milk so definitely drop the milk intake and start offering small and frequent meals so babe gets use to it and eventually will start putting it in their mouth I started with the easiest baby rice in milk it was touch and go how thick my babe would tolerate and flavours ect but she is a chunky babe loves food total opposite to her brother I hear ( I made the baby bottle opening abit bigger so still fed through the bottle eventually we moved to Bowles spoons and veg/fruit tethers which if you already haven’t they sell a great set on Amazon)
