Setting up the Nursery

When did you start setting up your nursery? Baby is due May 26th and not sure when to start setting up. I may have to move before which is why I’m asking now 🤗

I think around 30 weeks but remember it’s not something that needs to be done before birth as they don’t go in until 6 months ❤️

It’s still not 100% done and she’s 10m old 😂

@Nikki mine was done at 31 weeks and she’s 29 months and has slept in the room once 😂

It was complete in the Sept for our early Dec baby

I’m over 5 months postpartum and still haven’t done it 😆 other than a set of drawers for his clothes. You have them in your own bedroom for the first 6+ months anyway so there’s no rush

We've added a wardrobe while I was pregnant and she's 2 weeks old and not done it. She's not going to be sleeping in there for another 6 months at the very least so we didn't rush. My nesting instincts told me I had to do it at like 30 weeks. It didn't get done and tbh I'm glad we didn't stress. I added a changing matt on top of the existing chest of drawers and that we've only used a couple of times. At the moment it's just somewhere to put all the gifts people have bought her!

Really depends on how much you need to do. If it’s a full scale job, I.e. redecorating and repairs, then the earlier the better so you don’t feel rushed or stressed about it. If it’s just furniture set up and aesthetics, then from about 30 weeks is ideal. Tbf, it’s whenever YOU want. Theres no set timing in it

We started when he was like 5/6 months old

@Fay lol ya she’s refusing to sleep in her crib in her own room so we’re still sharing.

@Nikki if I knew this I could have made a closet instead of her room 😂 x

My 🤡 self set up a nursery. and now we are co-sleeping with no end in sight. (4 months now) .and the nursery became storage for his stuff .

I guess I'm the abnormal one lol but I did it around the start of my third trimester with my first baby and glad we did because we had to move her to her own room at 3 months. she would NOT sleep in the bassinet she learned to roll early and got angry that she couldn't fully roll so we had to move her to the crib but she ended up sleeping way longer stretches once we did. But doing it twice would SUCK so if it was me I wouldn't set it up until I was sure we'd be staying, or until we moved

@LeAynne our little boy was three months when he moved too! He definitely slept so much better once we made the move
