These drugs are originally meant to treat diabetes and similar diseases. They change your bone density and damage your kidneys, pancreas, heart, etc and cause severe long term health issues. They also increase your risk of thyroid tumors, the FDA has even released a statement about it. I’m all for finding healthy ways to deal with food cravings and overeating but these drugs are not the answer and are causing more damage for many women than they do benefits. I would suggest trying to find a healthy, low calorie snack such as cucumbers, celery, etc to help ease your food cravings without relying on a pretty hard-core drug that has so many risks. Especially with you breastfeeding, I would say that the risks outweigh any potential benefits you’d maybe feel.
I’m not 100% sure about breastfeeding and weightloss injections however I am currently on weightloss injections after giving birth almost a year ago. I was on them at 6 months PP (I had just stopped breastfeeding) and was throwing up so much, I ended up in hospital with a constant IV in me for 36 hours because my body hasn’t fully recovered from birth and everything was awful. I stopped them completely. However I started again, being almost a year PP (not breastfeeding), I’m doing good! No food noise and steadily losing weight! X I’d recommend speaking to your doctor about it. I know breastfeeding can give you the craziest of hunger and thirst but it’s because your body is giving a lot of your nutrients away. Personally I would say to wait until you’re done with breastfeeding as one of the possible symptoms are not feeling hungry and if you’re not eating enough, it will affect your supply. Avoid sugary snacks and opt for more healthier snacks which don’t have too many calories in x
So with weight loss 90% is down to diet which you have acknowledged. These injections are all well and good but the minute you stop them you will put the weight back on. I personally would prefer to change my bad habits and create longer lasting results through improving my eating habits , counting my calories and then once that is down increasing physical activity. To lose weight safely and effectively you have to be in a calorie deficit so you need to be using more calories than you’re taking in and burning excess fat xx
I think you should probably speak to your health provider. I don’t know where you’re from. But where I’m from you will be declined if you are breastfeeding x
