Maybe try cooking sausage meat and crumbling it up instead? I do this and mix it with mash and gravy for my little girl.
At this age, I serve sausage as tiny pieces that wouldn’t fully obstruct her airway even if she inhaled them. I’d suggest stop offering full pieces at this age, sausage is one of the more common choking risk foods
Yeh I took the skin off and cut in long ways into quarters she had 2 quarters so half but makes me all funny her making all these noises I’m trying to move her onto more ‘solids’ now she’s nearly 10 months 🫣 but I find it so hard I just keep giving her pureed pouches but gave her blended spaghetti bolognese and I just chopped up the spaghetti in smaller pieces and she loved it so thought I’d start other stuff but I can’t cope with the gagging which I keep getting told is normal. Been fine with those melty sticks going in as they do pretty much just melt 🙃
@Rebecca I was going by the solid starts app which says the cut it long ways into quarters. She did eat it, it’s mostly just my issue I can’t cope with it. The dog ate the other half 😅
@Incognito I also get nervous if my LO keeps gagging and has many times thought, "Though it is normal for them to gag, does a lot of gagging mean they are not quite ready for that kind of food??"
Yeh I definitely worry too much she ate them fine I guess it’s just the getting used to the texture. She did then chuck her plate the dog did appreciate 😂
Have you cut the sausage into 4 quarters lengths ways? I would say that's the best you can do to serve it safely. I also took the skin off the first time my LO had sausage. My LO will still gag at meat at times. Due to the texture, I imagine
