Breastfeeding and eating

My son has never been the best eater and it always trying to get on the boob. He started to get better around 10 months but has just turned one and is hardly eating anything! He will have a small yogurt a day and a bit of fruit and other than that he will just try get on the boob. I try offer multiple snacks and sips of water before giving in to giving him boob but he just screams and tries to pull them out till he gets them. I don’t know what to do!! Anyone else? I am happy to continue breastfeeding but I would like it to cut down so he is eating more. To add he also doesn’t have any teeth yet so I don’t know if this is a factor

Sounds like he could be teething. My little one stops eating food and becomes a boob monster every time a tooth comes through, sounds very similar!

Is he like this when he’s with other people as well? My normal suggestions would have been snacks/meals and distraction but sounds like you’re already trying those! Do you eat your dinner in front of him? Even if he’s not eating put him in the high chair so he can watch. After a couple of days do the same but start to offer food off your plate. Take all the pressure off. If he’s interested let him taste it. If not try something else or go back to him watching for a couple of days and then try again Xx

My daughter is doing the exact same thing! I've given in as she's been teething and sort of took a step back to blended foods and softer textures
