Purées and baby’s first foods

My daughter is 7mo and she still is primarily formula fed. We spoon feed her the baby rice cereal 3x/day so she can learn how to use her tongue properly etc. She just sprouted 1 tooth and I’m just not comfortable with solid foods. I only want to use purées for her right now. Any suggestions? ALSO, anyone else doing the same thing? I’m only seeing BLW things online and I just don’t know how I can give my toothless baby a solid food. I’m too scared 😂 is this resonating with anyone else? TIA!

We give our 7 3/4 month old 3 purée or oatmeal meals a day. On top of his formula. We get him his fat through olive oil in his purée and coconut oil in his allergen oatmeal. Our oatmeal has nut allergens mixed in to expose him to nuts. Don’t give more than 15ml of oils a day if you go this route. Our Pediatrician told us most babies do best increasing texture in their food once you hit 9 months. So there is no rush to do more solidified food yet if you aren’t ready.

Also, be warned, if you lean too hard on fruits, the sweetness can turn some babies off from green veggies. That’s why we’ve introduced over 30 foods through purée, but only one has been fruit.

I too can attest that baby gums are very strong 😂 There’s an app called Solid Starts that’s all about introducing food to babies! I really like it because it shows you how to serve the food at different ages ☺️
