When did you stop whole milk / full fat milk for your toddler?

My LG still enjoys her milk, morning before breakfast, after lunch (small amount) and then night time just before bed after her bath. Is this still okay? She does have meals, not always full meals though.

Mine still has milk before bed and also sometimes with her snack! I don't plan to stop any time soon since she enjoys it😊

@Alisha do you still offer her milk during the morning just after she has woken up? Or do you just give it those times you have stated x

I don't, only because she likes a big bowl of weetabix but that's only stopped recently, she dropped it naturally! I didn't try to stop anything, now I only give it the times I've mentioned, and unless she asks me for it!

@Alisha my daughter doesn’t even ask! When i offer it, she drinks it! I feel like if i didnt offer it, she would just go hungry 😫😫 i dont want to stop it because i feel like she drinks it cos she wants it or needs it

Don't feel preassured to stop if she still wants it! You know her best and my health visitor said there is no reason to stop if she wants it! We forget that they're still so little and other people and mums often think their advice is gold 🤣 every child is so different so dont feel bad if she still wants it 😊

I just started offering cow’s milk a few days ago because my milk supply has dropped due to my second pregnancy. I’m not planning to stop at all 😊 It’s such a relief to have a substitute.

My daughter still enjoys her milk. I'm not thinking of stopping her. Milk is good for the bones 😋 ,even with the adults as well.

My LG still has a bottle first thing and last thing, sometimes she'll have a smaller bottle mid afternoon. She still eats her meals and snacks

Same for my 20 month old. She has more when she’s teething and doesn’t like to eat as much. My eldest stopped having milk first thing and before bed when she started school at 4 and a half.

It’s recommended to give full fat until the age of 2, but I think the NHS recently updated their guidelines and you can give them semi skimmed. Mine has milk first thing and won’t have it any other time of the day so I definitely won’t be in hurry to get rid of his bottle, they need the fat in their diets.

My little girl who is 5 still asks for a glass of warm milk before she brushes her teeth at night. She said it keeps her tummy warm when she’s trying to sleep so i’ll let my little boy tell me when he’s ready to stop although he has goats milk due to an allergy to cows
