^ I wouldn't worry about the chocolate. I think this is just a common phase everyone is going through as my LO was the same with foods - ate everything and now it's only tomatoes, fruit, cheese, rice cakes and crisps. Hang in there - at least he is getting some food in.
@Hayley thank you for replying! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one! Do you offer any other foods? I’m just not sure how to approach this x
I eat a bit. Then I give her a small bit of whatever I’m eating. Then look away. I’m really enjoying mine. She wants to follow. No pressure and only small bits. Make sure feeding is not right after milk so she’s hungry. Creamy scrambled eggs Strawberries Chicken She doesn’t eat everything like you say there are safe foods
@Jane ah okay, yeah I rarely eat around my son tbh my appetite has gone since I’ve had my second baby so I will give this a go! Thank you so much
Definitely eat with baby! Even if you only snack/ have a little bit/ ‘pretend’. They really do love to copy us. My baby isn’t interested in food until I pretend to eat it or have a few bites then suddenly he wants it! I also find he eats better off my plate than his so sometimes I just make us a joint dinner and he shares x
@Yasmin I will definitely give it a go! Thank you! Xxx
I'd suggest you to wait till he's hungry, say 3+ hour from last feed or milk. Eats with him, gives him some of your food. Hopefully that'd help
I always give mine a choice, but I won’t force them. Eventually they will eat, as long as they’re hungry enough 😅 it’s battle, but I find that they’re more inclined to eat if the food I serve is the same as mine and we sit down and eat together. But choices are also important, and they’ll pick whatever they want to try and eat themselves.
Deffo agree with the other ladies, if you sit down with them and pretend to eat some of their food it encourages them. I think my little one gets nervous to try new things sometimes until I have some. We joke that he thinks he is the king and needs the food tested for poison before he will touch it 🤣. They deffo have their safe foods, I think that's normal because they know they like it. Its definitely all normal developmental things that all toddlers go through, I dont think anyone is born a great eater, its a journey and as you say, you are introducing your little one to new tastes and textures so hopefully at some point they will remember and it'll all have been worth it!
My husband did give him chocolate a while ago and he will eat it but I worry that because of this he’s gone off things that are good for him because to begin with he would eat fish & veg. Maybe I’m overthinking it but it’s just been a constant worry/ struggle of mine!
