I lost my mum last year in October and my first baby was born 24th october this year. My mum was my world and I fell apart after I lost her to cancer and I was in a bad place for a while and then found out I was pregnant and it gave me a reason to carry on. I have found is difficult knowing my mum and daughter won't ever meet and that my mum is missing out on being a nana to her. I have bought her a book called the grandma I've never met and it has a section for a photo and stories of her nana. I'm also putting my mums teddies etc in her room and will tell her about her as she grows up xx it's really hard and just know unfortunately you are not alone

Hi vicky. I have lost my mum, and dad. And it's been extremely hard without them but especially my mum. I was very, very close to her. She helped me so much with my eldest and 2nd child. When I had twins in 2021, and she wasn't here, it made the experience devastating and heartbreaking all over again. I have photos up of my parents, and I gave one of my twins my mum's name as their middle name. I talk about my mum too. Not all the time, but I mention her etc. And I always will. I tell my youngest who nana is when they see her photo etc. She was very important and special to me and I want my girls to know about her, even though she isn't here now x
