Milk intake

Just looking for a bit of advice. My baby is 9 months and loves his food but I am really struggling to get his milk in him he's just not interested. Because he's barely drinking he's not weeing much. I offer him water all the time but he just spits it out. I don't think he's teething but not 100% sure. Has anyone else had this and if so what did you do? My baby was born small and is still small now xx

My child is exactly the same. He only really breastfeeds a bit in the night and for naps. He doesn’t want water only 1 sip maximum here and there and I worried as he doesn’t drinks lots of milk( formula or breast) like other babies but my HV said is fine to give him multivitamin and keep offering drinks.

@Emy thank you for posting, it's nice to no I am not alone. What vitamins do you give your baby? X

I am in the same situation. Baby girl was born small and still small. She doesn’t like milk anymore, only food and is not drinking water as it should be. Asked the doctor and health visitor and they told me to start some multivitamins to compensate lost vitamins from not drinking milk. I took the vitabiotics 4 months - 4 years and to try giving as much water as I can during the day and milk when she wants it as much as she wants. Feeling a bit stressed as well right now cause is been 5 days she is not eating as much as well, usually she eats well but I think she is teething. I was so stressed about the amount of milk but not much to do unfortunately. Another thing they advised me was to include milk in the food I prepare for her. Milk cheese youghurt anything I can to compensate lost milk

I'm in the same boat 😭 I don't have the HV appointment yet and Gp said I HV needs to check the baby first.

We found that offering warm water makes a massive difference! It was slow at start but she now has it throughout the day - hope that helps xx

@Imelda thank you so much nice to no I'm not alone. I will definitely try the vitamins and more milk in food. It's very stressful isn't it. Xx

@Cyn brilliant will try this. X

@Lexi I rang the health visitor that said they weren't worried and just said to give him more food with milk in it. Going to try and get him at docs tomorrow though just to get him checked out. X

Thank you for telling me this, I'm going to try that too and wait for the HV appointment.

@Leanne yess very stressful, I was thinking all the time how to find ways for baby to drink milk and I stressed myself a lot. Then I just gave up cause not much we can do
