Start with veggies, especially bitter ones like broccoli and spinach. Then move onto the sweeter ones like carrots etc and then fruit. Not sure about porridge. But I've heard of you're weaning before 6mo then veggies are the way to go. Hope that helps.

We’re currently giving a peeled raw carrot to chew on here and there for taste purposes, not eating, apples too (peeled half). I’m planning to steam some vegetables and fruit, I’ll probably mix some breast milk in at first then put less, then just fruit/vegetables alone.

I started as she turned 5 months and started with steamed carrot puree for couple days, then apple and now I just gave her pear puree ☺️ next might be banana or broccoli ☺️

I personally wouldn’t give any grains just yet. Will give meat at six months

I havent, but Start with veggies, mainly green ones, a different one each day for 2 weeks before mixing 2 veggies together. Then LO will get 6months so you can start giving different textures and start giving porridge with cows milk etc.

I seen the HV today and current advice is green veggies first, then move in to sweeter vegetables and fruit etc. As for porridge, u don't need to use baby porridge as it has loads of other ingredients in it, just use normal oats blitzed to make them finer for baby! My girl is 2weeks off 6 months so I'm starting to plan how I'm going to do it

Start with just vegetables. The Ella’s kitchen purple book is really good to start with.

Thanks all, will start of with some veggies and see how it goes.
