A couple of days after a few settling sessions.

We still get a few tears at drop off, but after that she loves it and really enjoys it.

@Jo how many settling in sessions did you do?

We still get a bit upset at drop off and he's been going since Sept x

3 I think. First I stayed, second I left him for 30 mins and the third was an hour. He now says bye at the door and goes in.

Ngl 3 to 4 months!!

I work in a childcare setting and it very much depends on the child. Settling in sessions are great and most good settings will offer several if your child is struggling. A comfort toy can often help. But my biggest recommendation is although it’s hard, honestly just drop them off, tell them you love them and will see them soon and GO. Hanging around often makes the separation much harder. This is coming from 14 years experience
