Small appetite…

Does anyone else’s Lo have a small appetite? My daughter doesn’t really eat much in the day. So for example she’ll have a couple of bites of toast, 2/3spoons of scrambled eggs and not want anymore. Then for lunch she’ll have a couple of crackers and some cucumber sticks, she doesn’t really snack; I always offer, but she just doesn’t want it. Same for dinner, she’ll have a couple of bites of whatever I’ve cooked but she’s never come close to finishing her plate… I’m starting to get worried because she only has 2 small bottles of milk in the day so surely she’s hungry? Anyone else’s baby like this?

Hi-mine has recently starting to refuse much food etc so think it’s a phase/teething-hopefully!!!

I second teething. Could be the food your offering (like toast as an example) is a bit rough on her gums and a bit sore for her to eat it, which is putting her off of eating in general expecting it to hurt. My daughter was like this. Try offering softer foods? Pastas, fruits, etc. something easy for her to chew or swallow without having to use her gums as much? Or it could be a bit of boredom if not much variety ? Hopefully she’ll come out of it soon ! Xx

Hey, may or may not be helpful but my son had some blood tests at around 9 months (he’s 13 months now) and the results showed that his iron levels were low. We were prescribed some iron medication and in a week or so, we noticed his appetite increased significantly x

Just to add, we had the tests done because we were stressed about his eating and he was also suffering from constipation at the time x

@Natasha ahh thankyou! I’ll get her booked in at the drs to ask! X

@Holly hi! She’s been teething pretty consistently since 4 months so it’s hard to tell! We offer her a pretty big variety (her dad is a chef) so she gets all kinds of random foods, but the only thing she consistently will eat is berries and yoghurt 🙃. I’ll try and offer her more soft foods see if that helps! She does like pasta, Thankyou x
