From my experience with my older two boys, they seem to go through this phase when they realise they can say no, if that makes sense. All three of my boys have pretty much done the same and just sort of protested against whatever it is they don’t want - with my youngest I have just tried to modify his snacks and make them as healthy as possible but he loves little packs of cookies , so I just give him half of the little pack and add in some raisins or put them in a little bowl with some apple slices. This is obviously just my experience and both my older boys are now great eaters 🤞
@Charlotte that's great hun thank you. He was a brilliant eater but he's just switched I do make sure his snacks are a mix and healthy ones in there. He just shakes his head at me but then eaten alot of cut up strawberry. He is also getting his canines which I think is some of the problem aswell. It just worries me as when we are hungry we can just go get something. They can't talk properly so rely on us to feed them when we think they are hungry. It's swings and roundabouts lol. Xx
We’re in the same situation- literally not eating any of his meals. All he wants is snacks- please could you all share some healthy snack options?
@Poornima I use alot of the organix snacks, I also do different veg and fruit cut up in a bowl for him so he can go to it if he wants. He also loves the cheddar crackers. If he doesn't eat his tea won't make anything else but go to alternatives fruit, crackers yoghurt etc. I am not massively concerned as still having good nappies so know he's getting enough. It's just hard isn't it?
Same boat here, just snacks all day. I’ve noticed he eats more at breakfast so will concentrate on giving him a good breakfast then snacks throughout the day. I still offer him lunch and dinner and just let him eat what he wants. Children won’t let themselves starve so if he doesn’t eat everything I don’t worry.
Same here! Weirdly good to hear others are in the same boat! Mine refuses lunch a lot of the time - good with grated cheese, biscuits, yoghurt and fruit. And then I have to just give him pesto orzo pasta or a sandwich and he’ll usually eat that but I worry about not getting variety, he just refuses anything else! Any idea when he will grow out of this phase??
We’re in same situation. Lunch is awful atm as she’s stopped eating sandwiches. We tried wraps, malt loaf, pittas and toasted tea cakes. Was talking to my Mum about it earlier and she suggested just continue with the snacks but try to give healthier ones like breadsticks and fruit to go alongside her crisps and yoghurt.
In the same boat 🥺
