@Alex yes it’s the same family. But they did it again last week when dad took a day off because he would be working the weekend. But they didn’t end up paying me for that day. So I’m annoyed about that too. I spend the most time with him and I could have told them daycare wasn’t going to work out. But his early intervention people told them he would benefit from daycare. So that’s what they decided to do and gave me basically no notice. It’s only luck that I was able to find this new job. I have a feeling they may beg me to stay. But I did that once. Left a steady job to come back and be his nanny only for them to do this 2 months later. So yeah. Figure it out yourselves. Nanny Alyssa is done 😂
Oh wow that's crazy! They totally took advantage of you 🥲😡 My husbands aunt got fired from her nannying job after she got COVID, they didn't even tell her until after, poor women took care of the kid for 6 years since birth and now she'll never see her again Your new job sounds pretty great hope you love it! Congrats!
@Favi they definitely took advantage of me I agree. So I’m not sad that mom might have to quit her job 🤷🏼♀️
@SquishyMommy1 nah after hearing stories like yours and my husband's aunt's, these families do this to themselves, 100% what they deserve 🤷♀️
Congratulations🥳🥳🥳
Good for you. They sound like wankers.
Glad you found something new that you’re excited about. Don’t work for this family again, they sound like a nightmare employer
So happy for you! You would have thought the early intervention team would have encouraged a period of transition for the baby from many to daycare as that’s going to a big shock for the child, and would have at least given you some sort of notice period. What is the new job? X
@Chelsea you would think? He’s just not going to do well in a group setting at this point. I could have told them that. But 🤷🏼♀️
Good for you!! The family I nannied for when I got pregnant put their son in daycare literally all of a sudden (ZERO warning) just sat me down one Friday evening right before I was leaving and was like “this is your last day, he’s starting daycare Monday” not even a month after I got pregnant🥴 I nannied for a short term till 6 months pregnant & haven’t since!! Thinking about doing 1 or 2 days for like 3-4 hours at a time next spring when my daughter is a little older till we get pregnant with #2 but families can be brutal!! Good luck at your new job!!
Really hope it works out for you! Is this the same family that didn't but then eventually did pay you when she was sick? Probably for the best if so 😊
