Nursery/bedroom

March babies when is best time to do nursery/buy furniture? I’m one of those that doesn’t have anything for the baby in the house as don’t want any bad luck 🤣 but don’t want to leave the nursery too late 🫣

We only painted our nursery before he was here, we finished the rest when he was about 6 months old so I wouldn’t rush. To be honest you won’t even use it anyway😂 we never used ours till he started sleeping in there we bought a changing table and never needed it because we weren’t walking upstairs through the day and at night he just got changed on our bed.

Usually, I started prepping around 7 months. Before I got too big and too tired to do anything. I also had my babyshower around 8 months, which I got tons of baby items.

@Natalya 100% this!

If you are doing a nursery don’t wait till last minute in case he comes before the due date we barley made it on time 😭 or atleast make sure to have the essentials ready

Mine was a storage room until he was 6 months old, then we added bits and bobs as he got older and we knew what he would/wouldn't need

I’ve bought the furniture and putting the nursery together in December when I’ll be around 27 weeks. Although baby will be in our room the first 6 months, I needed somewhere to store all her stuff like clothes, books, teddys, toys and that’s why Ive decided to do a nursery before she’s born!

We already have an older one who needs to be evicted from the nursery 😂 so I’m giving him a ‘big boy bedroom’ for Christmas. He’ll move into his new room at Christmas time and then then nursery is pretty much ready for baby 🙂

@Lauren thanks Lauren that’s my reasoning too for clothes books etc

Ours was done September time for our early December baby. The cot was on a 6 week lead time so worth considering things like that! Despite most saying you won't use it for a while, our little boy went into his at 3 months and slept so much better in his own space x

We’ve spent the past few weekends sorting out the room that will be the nursery as it was being used as extra storage for a whole host of things and a spare bedroom. Now it’s empty we plan on painting it this weekend as all our weekends are now full until the new year and wanted to get this bit done so can start storing baby bits etc here and can just relax knowing all the big bits are done 🙈

We’re doing the Buying for Baby appointment at Mamas and Papas and they allow you to pay a 10% deposit then delay delivery! So we’re going to order at the end of this month but get it delivered mid - end Jan! We’d like everything ready before she’s here so we still have a nice place to change her and keep all of her things x
