Anyone else not planning to use nursery?

I haven’t even thought about applying. I’m going back to work soon for 2 days a week and my mum doesn’t work so she’ll have her for the 2 days but everyone I know is talking about putting their LO in nursery or signing up for the year after (when they’re nearly 2) Does every single baby normally go nursery at 2?!

No my other little girl started school nursery when she was 3, before that she didn't go to nursery, it's not a necessity don't worry

We have a part time, term time Nanny and my husband takes her two days a week. I am in full time work. We have waitlisted for a forest school nursery 2 days a week when she's 2.5 but it may be closer to 3. Do whatever is best for your family.

My lo will be starting in our village pre school in January 2026 when he’s just gone 2 and they will be half days xx

We have to send ours to nursery because we don’t have family to help. I have to go back to work 4 days. If I could do less hours or had family to help then we would certainly consider not using nursery but mainly for the cost or not having to put her in for so long. But I do know from my first that it helps them so so much

I’m only sending mine to nursery because we have absolutely no help from family, I’m returning to work part time so she’s going 2 days per week. If I had help or if I didn’t work I wouldn’t be sending her until pre school age

My first little boy stayed with my mum 2 days a week untill school pre school at 3 and half. My second little boy goes childminders but my mum sadly passed away this year or I would have done that same as you! My first little boy you would never of known he hadn’t gone to nursery. Let your little one spend as much time with her nanny it’s precious 💕xxx

I don’t think they go for fun tbh it’s more from necessity, we don’t have any family near us so we don’t have a choice. If my mum was hear I wouldn’t think twice about leaving him with her.

@Stephanie just wanted to say I’m so so sorry for your loss ❤️

Most people have to as they have no other choice

@Luba thank you so much 🥰xx

Hi, i have a 13 year old and now my 1 year old and no babies going to nursery never used to be so popular it was 2 and a half for pre school and if you go even further back babies never used to go to nursery the mum would stay home. These days i think people put pressure on socialising babies etc etc when actually the are a baby they can get all of the social skills they need from being at home or with family going out and about in general. X

My son's 3 years 2 months and has never been to nursery and isn't going anytime soon. He's never spent the night with anyone other than us either. I'm lucky enough to be able to be at home with my kids so for as long as I am able to they will be home with me
