Starting solids soon

My LO is 5 months and we are getting closer to complementary feeding, but I’m feeling so anxious, I have no idea how to do it, how many solid meals I have to give him? what time of the day? how I give him water? (I saw it’s not recommended to give water in his regular bottles), what food should I give him? how many bottles of formula I will have to give him? I’m lost 😮‍💨

Start with 1 solid meal per day, all formila feedings stays same. I feed my lo 8am, 11am 1 pm and 3 pm milk then 5 or 6pm cereal (started with oatmeal) then last feed at 8pm before bed.

And I was told for the food to start with vegetables.

One solid meal a day to start with, take it slow and easy. Don't be surprised if it's only a few bites or he spits it out. Just be patient and keep offering different foods. There really isn't any one in particular that's best to start with, but things like carrots and peas and squash and sweet potato are easy to digest and usually well accepted by babies. It's generally said that giving vegetables is best or that fruit will give baby a taste for sweet foods, but don't be afraid to give fruits either. Fruits are good for their diet, for digestion, for nutrition. You can give water in small amounts from 6 months of age. It doesn't have to be distilled or sterilized. I like these munchkin sippy cups: https://a.co/d/birTNLf to start with, they don't easily spill, but they also aren't straws or bottles, they help baby learn to use the same oral muscles they will use to drink liquids throughout their life. Formula will still remain the star of the show for awhile, same amount per day as you usually give.

Thanks for the helps girls 💕💕💕 I really appreciate it
