Need help in Vancouver WA

Hi mamas and parents alike! I don't usually post here, and I especially don't usually ask for help. My twins are going through a really picky phase with food and the only things they wanna eat are fruits and veggies. We are currently on our last few apples and don't have much else produce wise. I was wondering if anyone near Vancouver Heights might have any extra produce they could pass along to my family? We are on E in my car and don't get paid until the 20th, and have to wait until next week to get to food banks because of their policies for going. I can meet at Safeway on Andresen & Mill Plain Blvd or pick up close to there!

Do you have Facebook? If so, type in your area and then "buy nothing group." I've gotten fresh vegetables with no dumb chemicals. Some people also might know about community gardens and such as well. I hope that helps! If that doesn't do the trick go to Google and search "food bank map" and it'll show you a small map of your surrounding area and all the food bank name, info, location and everything. Some food banks do deliveries for those who can't afford to travel.

@Jesse i do, Ive posted in a few buy nothing groups and haven't had much luck, just some rude comments so far 😅 Luckily admin is deleting the rude comments but its been frustrating to say the least lol Edit: all the food banks closest to me Ive attended already ( i dont have the gas to get to ones further away )and wont be able to go to again until next week. The one that delivery only delivers non-perishables!

I would definitely look up "food bank map" on Google and see what you can find.

@Jesse I have! Sorry I added an edit to my original comment right when you responded lol 😂

Dang, that sucks I'm so sorry. I hope something turns around for you soon

Do you have WIC?

@Alexus I do not, I haven't been able to afford to get my address updated on my ID, and according to WIC my ID had to match my current address. It's only $20 I believe to do so but these last few months we haven't had that to spare unfortunately. Just waiting on tax returns!

@Willow that’s definitely not true. I have Wic and all I had to show was proof of residence. I even switched addresses and they didn’t ask for proof

@Alexus when I called thats what the lady I spoke to told me during our interview, I'm not sure if she just didn't actually know and just said what she thought or if she just didn't want to look it up because it was the end of her shift. She was really rude and dismissive the entire time so I'll go with the latter and schedule a new interview for WIC!

@Willow ugh that’s horrible I’m sorry. Yes I’d definitely try to speak to someone else! Be like look I will show you a bill 🙄
