When is a good time to start other foods for baby?

My baby is currently 5 months. But hasn’t rolled. Doesn’t sit on its own. His head still wobbles. So idk if he’s ready to have anything other than milk?

Show your support

Current recommendation is 6 months plus showing all outward signs of readiness. Interest in food, can sit with minimal support, brings objects to their mouths, and can hold their heads up.

Should be able to sit with minimal support. If his head is still wobbling I'd say he's not ready. They should have pretty good head control before you introduce solids or it can be a choking hazard.

Thank you soo much ladies!!

if your babies dr approves them for solids you can start with whatever i mean purées not like a steak lol.. my baby is 4 months old and can sit by his own for atleast a minute and can use something like a boppy pillow so he’s been approved and i just use supported sitter foods every once in awhile and he’s super interested in food one time (i let him smell my food) i was showing him my bagel and he grabbed it and into his month it went… nothing but alittle cream cheese went into his mouth it scared me but i can tell you he’s ready for foods lol
