Choosing which days at nursery

We’ve got our daughter enrolled at nursery for 3 full days from January but haven’t yet had to finalise which days they will be. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations about whether 3 days in a row are better and helps them settle quicker/adjust to having a new routine, or break up the week by having the days spread out and her time with me in between? Thanks

I definitely think keeping the days together if you have a choice can work better for settling. I also personally found having all my work/non-work days in a row better too, both in terms of managing my work and deadlines etc but also for doing things with my eldest, we had some nice long weekends away etc.

Thank you @Chloe, you’ve confirmed my current thinking so really pleased to hear it’s worked for you

We put my little boy (now 3yo) in for 3 days wed -fri with your reasoning and it seemed to work well for us. I’d also recommend not having them in on Mondays (if possible) due to bank hols as some nurseries still charge even though they’re closed!

I've done the same with that reasoning wed-Fri for consistency

Avoid a monday so your not left paying for all the bank holidays when they are probably shut🙈 My nursery recommended days in a row when i viewed it, my LB goes Tues/Wed/Thu and settled in quite well! Ultimately your little one will get used to the routine you choose🤍

We've done Tues-Thurs, avoiding Mon and Friday for the bank holiday reason above 😂. She's been going since sept and I found having several days in a row really helped her settle into their routine quickly. Also because we sometimes go away to places like center parcs for a long weekend and didn't want to have to pay for nursery on days we were away 🙈

I just did the days that work for us which are Monday, Thursday Friday and she’s settled no problem. I don’t think it’s that big a deal in practice

Thank you everyone for commenting, these responses are so helpful! 🫶
