Has anyone used childcare uk to find nanny/babysitter at short notice? In need of a babysitter for this Friday and wondered if it’s worth it or we should cancel our plans. She’s only been left with grandparent not with anyone else. Advice?

Your council should have a list of any registered childminders on their website, I don’t know much about childcare uk but I believe you have to pay a fee just to even message someone on there

Yes that’s right, I can message on the site for free but to contact via WhatsApp I have to join the membership which I don’t want to do really. thank you so much! I’ll check on the council site! Never even considered that!

I used to be a nanny and found work on there. You can add reviews so why not but anyone could create a profile so to speak.

I found our cm through netmums! So yes. I’d want to meet her and see her childcare qualifications and evidence she’s been crb checked.

I’m really interested in someone near to us but I’m not forking out £15 for 2 weeks on there 😂 the childminders on the council site seem to be just for days I think! Urgh so annoying! Just hope she seems my message on there.

We tried but not for short notice. There are chances it can work out, but they usually take ages to reply and arrange a meeting. I have seen people get better luck on local fb groups.
