Full time nursery

Does anyone send there little one to nursery 5 days a week? How do they get on with it? Mine has his first settling in session today and I’m feeling major mum guilt 😭

Yep mine does, it’s hard! But it does get easier. He’s been going full time since September and my hours are long so we don’t spend time together of an evening. It’s literally dinner bath milk bed. I just make sure we spend time as a family on a weekend (where possible) I just remind myself that itl be worth it. As in holidays etc

@Rae thank you 🙌 Did your little one adjust to it okay?

Absolutely fine, although I finish at 6:30 and he used to fall asleep on the way home (5 min walk) so I asked the girls to give him dinner at nursery. It’s taken a while for him to stay awake on the way home 😂 But he loves it, always happy to go in and I’d never left him with any one before going nursery! I think I left him with his dad twice I think when I went to get my nails and eyelashes done. So I was super worried he’d be really unsettled But no he’s thriving

I put bubby into childminders at 7 months full time and she’s thriving! She has learned so much from copying the other kiddos and have little friends, I was the exact same I dropped her off on week 1 crying everyday and then I saw how good the minder was with her and how she reacted to going to the minder🫶🏻x

I don’t send mine full time but I really struggled through the settling in sessions! I started mine in September so he was only just 1 really. And he would cry whenever I left him and cry when I picked him up. This honestly lasted about 6 weeks and I had thought of pulling him out but another mum at the nursery who had been bringing her son for a few months told me the first month or 2 were the hardest! We’re in our 3rd month now and he happily goes to the staff in the mornings and only cries if I have to wake him up from his nap at pick up! 😂 They honestly thrive in new environments so don’t give up and don’t feel any guilt. I was always told “he’s fine once you’ve gone” and didn’t believe them but actually I think he was and still is! They’re being well looked after 🫶🏼

Full time here and my daughter loves nursery. I think she settled quicker because she was there every day. It was so very hard at first and as much as everyone told me it would get better I couldn’t believe it! But it absolutely does get better. She runs in and barely gives me a second look. Like others have said she has learnt lots too. Xx

Yes and my little girl loves it. She’s also really excited to see us at the end of the day which is nice. She jumps over in the morning to them as she knows she’s getting breakfast straight away

Thank you everyone 🥰 he really enjoyed it yesterday so we’re off to a good start 🩷
