Is anyone giving their babies fresh fruit juices instead of purées?

My baby girl is purely breastfed and I would like to start her on solids and water. Has anyone tried giving fruit juice instead of purée? Also, over the past few days she has been having a lot more milk than usual and then throws up (looks a bit forced) a lot of excess milk right back out. Could it be due to teething?

Don't give fruit juice. If you do you should water it down. It's concentrate sugar. The actual fruits are better. If you want a purée that breast fed babies tend to like try sweet potato x

Definitely don’t give fruit juice. You can introduce it at 12 months + but should be watered down and given with meals. BLW fruit to eat is better than purées but should be cut up appropriately.

Came here to say the same: avoid fruit juice 🙅🏽‍♀️ even if they are freshly made at home, they are basically pure sugar.

My son is 2 and not had any fruit juice.

My girl (6 months) is also breastfeeding more frequently these days, especially at night (for comfort due to teething I think) She's not too into eating solids, but she does like cucumber, sweet potato, avocado, and banana. When we want less mess, we use a silicone feeder (helps with teething too, try putting frozen fruit or veg inside). I also made chia pudding with breast milk and she accepted some of that on a spoon. Check out the Solid Starts app if you haven't already :)

Thank you all for the advice! I’ll just stick to mashes and purées then! Yes I do have one of those silicone feeders, will try that too!
