We have a nanny, we have to guarantee hours regardless of whether we need her as she is full-time salaried.
You pay weekly mines is due the Sunday of the start of the week. Some day care offer part time but that means full days only 3 or 2 times a week rather full care. Some daycares also charge before and after care so if your child needs care before 8 am or after 3 pm there are additional fees. Unfortunately no if they are sick that’s just money down the drain.
We ended up deciding I would stay home because we only needed daycare three times a week, and while that was an option for our 2 year old, it wasn’t for our 4 month old (ages at the time this happened). We had to pay for full time even if he only went three days, and it was nearly $800 a weekly.
We pay weekly for daycare, and we are flexible in terms of how many days and hours our baby should be there. I think minimum is 2x a week, but we bring him in 3x a week on average. So not every daycare makes you pay for the whole week, some are flexible.
We have a babysitter 1-2 days a week and we pay daily!
For daycare, you pay regardless if baby goes or not, even if they're sick! You're essentially paying to hold the spot. Babysitters can range from paying daily, weekly etc. If you go private, you can probably come to an agreement of payments. Prices can also range! It also depends on if they come to your home, you drop them off, and how many hours. You'd probably have more flexibility with a Babysitter.
