My husband and I have a house in San Diego, i work as a nurse practitioner and he is in finance. We had help getting a down payment from family (that we are paying back with interest…) but we afford the mortgage with our salaries. Took me a long time to get where i am, college/nursing school and worked part time as a CNA, then got my RN and worked bedside in an Open heart surgery unit, then moved part time outpatient as i went back and got my doctoral degree and now work in an internal medicine office full time as an NP. My husband got his bachelors and started working at his finance company but he realized you get a pay raise and can move into management faster (per company policy) if you get your masters degree so he did his masters online while working full time (his company paid for half of his masters). And now he’s in management there
