Best Food Hack!

Can we share some of our best food hacks for gestational diabetes? I’ve found adding a little sweetener to my morning porridge really help keep me on track for the day! Also I’ve been having a Fulfil bar as an occasional treat. Sainsbury’s sell Siro Vanilla Wafers that are sugar free. However today all I wanted was ice cream - the desire was so strong, so I substituted it with Sugar free Jelly and whipped cream, really hit the spot!! Any other great food hacks??

Great hacks! My hacks are not as yummy but they work. So my numbers spike in the morning for some reason after breakfast so if I eat a small bowl of raw spinach and some cucumber followed by a piece of wholemeal toast and eggs or some other protein it keeps the numbers low my nutritionist said that the spinach kinda acts as a base to keep the sugar down and it works or I go for a short walk around the block and that lowers it too. I got the no guilt bakes cakes and although they are pricey they are super yummy so worth getting them as a monthly treat 😅

Oh I hadn’t heard of the no guilt bake cakes! I’m gonna try those!

Diablo is a great SF brand- I love their milk chocolate in particular. Nairns oat biscuits (chocolate, apple and cinnamon, fruit and spice, coconut). Pairing anything a bit carby or sugary with cheese really helps me get a balance.

My fasting numbers were awful when I was first told I have GD a month ago. A week in, Started having a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in water every night with a cheese stick. Since then my fasting numbers have been great and have even started having a teaspoon of acv in the morning too to help with levels throughout the day.
