@Keyona i’m giving him foods he’s eaten before, like beans and pasta and he’s just refusing to eat them
My toddler does that too and it stresses me out. Sometimes I have to get my husband to try to feed him or we put bbq sauce on the food. Toddlerhood is challenging.
my go to meals bfast : scrambled eggs (organic) cook with organic butter and top with flakey salt (maldons) side of avocado slices side of warmed up black beans on stove with some flakey salt you can sprinkle cheese on it too serve everything warm and sit and eat the same meal with them, avoid too much eye contact and don’t make a big deal out of anything like praising when they eat. any fruit they like before nap , my daughter can see the bananas on the counter and will request them any time of day after nap: Crunchy big green grapes , ritz crackers and any cheese of their liking. we do mozzarella, havarti , munster. baby bel is easy too dinner is always different but my girl loves any spaghetti / noodles or anything tasty really. sometimes when she doesn’t eat a lot off her plate so i make her a bowl of probiotic yogurt with frozen blueberries , maple syrup and hemp seeds. sometimes she gets a cup of milk too if i feel she needs it.
i just saw your comment about him declining his usual foods. definitely look for a good yogurt that you can add fruit to and hemp seeds to get nutrients. you can even blend frozen strawberries with the bulgarian yogurt with maple syrup and make a danimals type yogurt. another few ideas is quesadillas, mashed avocado with lime and salt. chicken wings (my girl loves the dark meat) mexican rice oatmeal with yogurt fruit and maple syrup is hard to resist
Girllllllll I feel you. My son is literally living off of air , snacks and water 🙄 sometimes I wanna fight him cause I’m like, “ eat something!” I offer him foods he would normally eat but he could not care less…
Same like with my almost 2 years old omg it’s getting harder every day the things she love to eat she doesn’t want to eat anymore its frustrating and its make me every upset which leads me towards anger I can’t make her understand how I feel when she is not eating and it gave me anxiety what the damn thing happened to our kids 😭😭😭 Plus I tried all kind of alternative foods when she refused means she doesn’t want anything period
Oof, this battle is so tough. Whenever my daughter starts refusing foods we switch up how it’s being served (ex: a different type of plate, a new bowl, just on the counter, etc.) or we’ll switch up using utensils or not. Frequently we have to make meal time very engaging and interactive, but more times than not it does the trick! Try to make it as fun as you can
When my toddler’s being particularly picky we find that he actually eats more if he’s alone for awhile. Meaning we’ll serve him dinner first and then keep ourselves busy in the kitchen making our own plates, doing dishes or even just chatting between ourselves (all while supervising of course). It sounds counterintuitive but I think he likes the opportunity to explore the foods by himself. And if he throws a fit during his time alone we don’t acknowledge the behavior and he usually starts eating it. After he’s had some good bites we join him. I also second giving dips like bbq sauce, ranch or ketchup. Sometimes I like a little flavor change so I figure he does too!
My son is the pickiest eater ive everrrr met. Literally lives off of frozen protein pancakes and chicken nuggets, with some eggs and yogurt and of course he will eat cookies and other bad snacks lol but he refuses things he used to like now too :( a couple things that can help for us is if his dad or a random friend or something offers him food he is more likely to take it from anyone other than me, the default parent lol and also leaving him in his high chair with the food even if he doesnt eat it right away. Also i will make homemade pancakes or muffins and blend spinach into them to sneak some greens in
Oh another thing that helps is letting him grab something out of the fridge or cupboard and helping him open it, so he thinks he chose the item himself lol
I mixed meat and veggies in mashed potatoes for my 1 year old. Initially he only like soft foods like purees and didnt like certain textures—still picky—
