Weekly/Daily Planners - is it a necessity?

Hey mums! Ever since I had my second child (2 under 2) I’ve found that I’m loosing track of time and constantly forgetting things. Does anyone use a planner as a mum and does it actually work? If so, how do you find the time to fill it in? Any recommendations of good ones would be welcomed :)

I always use planners and calendar reminders and alarms for things.

I love bullet journalling, and I learnt how from The Bullet Journal Method: Track the Past, Order the Present, Design the Future Book by Ryder Carroll

I use my phone. Calendar for events. Alarm for reminders. Notes for tracking things like current sleep routine, milestones, shopping lists, Christmas prep. I recently also started using the Smart Tasks app for daily/weekly to-do lists. I have ADHD and easily start drowning in tasks, these things are helping!

I have yearly planner and I write the day before things I have to do next day. At the end of every month I write doctors appointment etc for next month. Now when my kids have school I write all school thing in there too, so I don't miss anything 😁

I use my notes app for things like bday/Xmas lists and cost of each gift i buy. I use it for grocery lists and meals I'm going to make that week. I use it to keep track of everyone's sizes and things they like. I use my alarm for reminders and make sure to do a day before reminder for an appt/activity/event and the morning of. I use my calendar to keep track of dates for bills, rent, birthdays, get a ways, scheduled activities. I find this really helps me manage my time and mu finances. It also helps because my wife can look at it too before she asks me a question 🤣

we use a yearly calendar hanging in our kitchen and it’s so nice because we have all of our apts and reminders in one place. At the beginning of each week I set alarms for anything we have going on

We have a calendar on the wall to keep up with everything and I think it helps so much more than a planner! Something that’s always right there as you walk by

My husband and I have a shared calendar on our phones so all appointments and reminders go in there, plus his work schedule. I plan my week’s activities from there and double check it every morning. For at home stuff I use a paper to do list and stick it to the fridge so I’m constantly checking it whenever I go in there. Meal plan for the week is on a whiteboard on the fridge so it’s central and visible to everyone. I find anything in my notes app gets lost because it’s out of sight out of mind.

I use my phone for everything even the smallest of things like what we need as we’re running out. Cooking, I keep my eye on the time or I put on a timer always. Events, I put them in w an alert to get ready and an alert to leave the house. Things that are repetitive like his baby bounce or storytime days I have on repeat for that day every week.

I use google calendar on my phone and share calendars with my husband. Paper wall planners and books aren’t with you all the time.

I'm rubbish with paper but pretty decent at the digital stuff. My husband and I have a shared calendar and I'll use alarms to remind me of things too. Now our eldest is at school there are just way too many things to keep track of. And we were overwhelmed before that 😂
