Thinking of getting my babies ears pierced. She is 11 months old and I was wondering if anyone recently had their babies ears done and what to expect. TIA

I got my daughters done at 5 months. She screamed for like 1 minute and then was totally fine

Following! Mine is 11 months too and I’m thinking of going to get her ear pierced as well.

I want to get my 11 month old done but im scared shes going to pull them out😩

I'm going to wait until my babies can decide/clean the ears for themselves so won't be for a while if down the line they want them I know a lot of people do go very early all I have to say is absolutely do not go to a place that has a "gun" such as the mall etc they CANNOT be sterilized properly and I had infections for many many years as a kid from them since my parents also had mine done as a baby. Go to your pediatrician or someone with a hollow needle who is trained for it not a piercing kiosk. It also can lead to metal sensitivity down the line if you get any that have nickle in the jewelery especially early on (which I also have) https://medicalpiercing.ca/prevent-kids-ear-piercing-allergies/?srsltid=AfmBOopChVgcg4gYih4HwI-4JCLEFIFVRmChEjQNYYoq9ODSnxGXXpb1 https://safepiercing.org/piercing-guns/#:~:text=Piercing%20guns%20can%20cause%20significant%20tissue%20damage.&text=The%20effect%20on%20the%20body,and%20causes%20similar%20tissue%20damage.

Me and my husband did it at home when she was 6 months as well as our 2 year old at the same time I didnt want anyone to do it

There's a place called Rowan piercing where everyone working there is a nurse and it's very sanitary. I did my girl's at 6 months and it went really well. But I personally don't know about this age. My 11 month old boy is really aware now and he's always swapping at his ears when he's eating just cuz he knows they're there. It might be an issue keeping them clean or from infection

We did it when my baby was 5 months old with our pediatrician. They used a gun and she only cried for like 30 seconds, specially because she didn’t want to be held down. They provide sterilized piercings and those are the ones they should wear for 2-3 weeks until it heals. The piercing itself and after care was very simple and healed so fast! I used to care for it by cleaning with a qtip and alcohol every morning and night, and make sure you move and twist to prevent it from sticking. After 2 weeks I put 14k gold earrings. She doesn’t pull them or touch them, i don’t think she’s even aware of it. I do recommend getting piercings of high quality, at least 14k gold made for baby that don’t bother them, doesn’t fall off easily, etc.
