Learning tower - possibly a stupid question but

I’m thinking about getting my little boy one but if I leave it in the kitchen, what’s stopping him moving it and climbing up when he wants?! I’m concerned that if my back is turned he could climb up and pick up a knife or knock over boiling water for example. Do they all have latches or something?!

Getting ours was a game changer in terms of her not always wanting to be picked up but yeah she’s just learnt she can move it around and now try’s to climb in front of the hob etc nothing to do other than always be there 🙈 I did get a foldable one to try and get away from that issue but it felt really weak and unsafe so returned and got a sturdy one

My mum has one for my wee boy, it’s a plastic one so she keeps its outside covered up and then just brings it in and swipe it down when she wants to use it, saves space and stops him doing what your worried x

My friend has one and said that this is now the problem as her little boy just moves it around and can access what he wants! We’ve got our little boy one for xmas but I’m nervous for when the hob is on/he can get to anything sharp in the sink or clean pots/knives on the drainer. I guess just always being there is the solution! We have a baby gate separating our living room/kitchen so he’ll only have access when we’re in there or it’s fully safe x

My little boy does just this but you just have to watch them & not leave anything out. It is a game changer & we love it & so does my LB but you have to think so much more. I guess no different to when they get talker & can just reach. We push it out the way if we are cooking etc

I have one that folds into a table and seat, so when we’re not using it as a tower, I have it folded as a table so at least she can’t climb up too high
