I went to school for my Bachelor’s while pregnant, delivered my boy during midterms and graduated when he was 6mos old. & I’m starting a Master’s program in 2025. So worth it.. it doubled my salary and allowed me to work fully remote. 1. Have a routine. I liked to set aside 2 hours a day either in the morning or evening when he’s asleep to study/do hw. 2. Meal prep for you both (and have your husband help) to save time. 3. Take one day off to spend quality time with your family & recharge. 4. Exercise or walk or have some activity that helps you to relax/get out of your head. I loved “Yoga with Bird” YouTube videos. And they’re free!
I found out I was pregnant with twins the first week into my ph.d program. It just takes organization
I got pregnant with my baby in the beginning of my senior year, as long as you have great support system and communicate your situation with your professors you will be okay! A lot of my professors understood and if I just so happen to miss a due they would work with me to get the work turned in. A routine is the best thing to have, do work while baby is sleep, or a time where you have someone with baby, you got it! You could do whatever you put your mind too don’t let ANYONE discourage you. Good luck mom
Thank you I will take heed to y’all’s advice I appreciate it
I’ve been in and out of school since having my daughter in 2021, since then I’ve also given birth to twins. They’re 8 months now and my daughter is 3.5. I’m in school full time, mostly online classes. I don’t think doing it on campus will work unless they offer childcare at the school you’re attending or you can get them in daycare/have a consistent baby sitter. Thankfully I have family to keep them when I go to my one class on campus and then I have help 2 hours a week to do homework. The rest I just have to do when they’re asleep or occupied. It’s hard but manageable.
Yes. I found out I was pregnant a month before graduating in 2022 lol. My original plan was to go back the following semester to get my masters, but I couldn’t do it. I felt like I needed to focus on my baby and navigating this new chapter in my life. So finally applied earlier this year and just finished my first semester last week. And I’ll graduate in 2026. I also agree having a good support system as well as a routine. My work during the day/night. So I fit in my assignments either before work or even after if needed.
OMG I just decided to go back to school as well. Good luck to us! And everyone else currently in school!!
I’m currently paying back from the semester I dropped when I was pregnant. I intend on going back once I get organized , and been In therapy for a little longer .
Basically I learned from my mistakes the first time I went . Be patient . Have a routine. Make sure to keep mental health matter managed . At the time when I dropped I wasn’t In therapy now I am. Therapy also helps a lot with stress. Now I’m a little patient , and learned proper coping mechanisms
I’m currently doing my masters and have a 7 week old I have till April left! I do have to say I’ve not had much time to do any of it at the moment however, the older she is getting the more naps she’s having so I do it around her naps! My partner is also at uni finishing his bachelors too while working full time so it’s difficult for both of us to get uni done however we have agreed to alternate and my family have offered to come round so we or them can go out to cafes and have some proper focus times etc I would say if you can do as much before as you can!
I go back in the spring for radiography! I’m 24 I have a 9 year old and 10 month old , I’m also a esti (6 month program) and a nursing assistant (1month program)
I did 3 quarters when my oldest was 6-15 months and going back in Jan with an almost 3 year old and 6 month old. I did a good amount of my HW when my oldest was sleeping. If you have help, that is GREAT. My husband is really supportive thankfully and is going to hang out with them while I get my work done. It definitely gets stressful at times, but remember you are doing it for them🩵 Also you will probably use Canvas which has a calendar to tell you when all your assignments are due, so try to schedule some chill days when you don’t have class or HW due
I had my daughter when I was 20 so I didn’t really go back to school but I stayed in school! The biggest thing is definitely having a strong support system that is willing to help you with kiddos! I’ve found that a lot of teachers are accommodating and understanding, a ton of my classmates have had kids as well!! You totally got this! I found that online school was a lot easier with having a little one because I was able to do school work after bedtime or during naps!
