2k disposable income is a hell of a lot more than most people make things work on. We spend around £60 a week shopping now I’m back at work and baby is at nursery 3 days a week. When I was on mat leave we spent around £100 a week for 2 adults and a baby. That doesn’t include nappies, we shop at Aldi but use rascals/ pampers which they don’t sell x
@Yasmin thanks for your reply! I appreciate it is more than most people but it’s a big transition for us.. with me now not returning to work & having a baby to look after too. Just feel overwhelmed and a bit of an unknown!
We spend around £500-£600 a month but that depends on what we’re ordering but tbh I could probably get that down to £100 a week if I tried.
We spend about £250 a month, on 2 adults, 1 child and a dog. We also shop in aldi for most food, but buy pampers nappies so get them from Tesco on their 2 for £20 x
£2000 leftover income is a good bit more than we have left over and we are fairly ‘well off’ or decent on paper. At the moment we probably have about £1400 I would say for groceries, petrol, baby classes, day to day life ie basically everything after bills. We spend about £100-£110 per week on food, this includes cleaning products, nappies, wipes and formula and covers 3 meals a day for all 3 of us as my husband takes lunch to work. Probably could get it down more but we do use pouches for days out and add in some wine or treats. We just meal plan every weekend for the next 5-6 days til the next shop and stick to the list and go to lidl where possible and use tesco points as well. Only get a takeaway once a month maybe but I can still get my nails and eyebrows done and buy baby clothes or go out for coffees etc when I want to (not all the time), there are times like this month its tight as Ive bought Christmas gifts but thats also because Im not getting much pay on mat leave.
We spend £100-140 a week at Aldi for 2 adults, 1 year old and a cat. Sometimes under £100 it just depends how good the middle aisle is 😂. And once a month I do a £80 ocado shop for toiletries, cleaning stuff and other branded items that I can't get at Aldi
We’re about £120 per week on the big shop, 2 adults and 1 baby.
£2k is a lot of spare money per month. Last month we didn’t plan anything and so did a ton of little shops and ordered riverford which is pricey too and that was probably looking at £400-500 a month for two adults and a baby. That was getting a ton of luxuries we don’t usually buy.
£100-£140 a week! I’ve tried to get it down by planing and bulk buying certain things but ultimately there is always something we need to buy extra!
We spend £600 a month on food for 3 of us and that’s with having ‘what we want’ as such x
We spend about £400-£450 a month on food for 2 adults and a 1 year old (this also includes nappies) - I try to do a big shop each week and am very selective with what I buy x
