Poorly baby

Hi I’m not sure if anyone has experienced this but I’m just looking for advice, my daughter was quite poorly last week, kept spiking temps was being sick after some bottles, diarrhoea, very chesty and wheezy. Took her to the gp, they said her chest sounded fine although when I put my ear to her back she sounded awful, the outcome was that she had an ear infection and then had 5 days of antibiotics. I hadn’t seen any signs of her having an ear infection other than her being off balance, anyway the antibiotics finished on Sunday and yesterday she became unwell again spiking a temp of 38.9. Took her to the gp again and was told her obs were fine so to just give her calpol, she woke up in the night very unsettled and crying for a while. And then woke up this morning just crying, her temp was 38.4 so she’s had some calpol. I’m just worried that it could be something more, I know it might not be but it’s just concerning that she’s all of a sudden unwell again.

Call 111, your GP sounds so unsympathetic

Spiking temperatures is body’s way of fighting infection and is expected when baby does have a virus/infection. I’d probably call 111 for advice and reassurance. You could also look at this site: what0-18.nhs.uk which gives really good advice on when to escalate. I hope your little one feels better soon. Seeing them sick is the worst.
