Overreacting?

I am currently pregnant with my second and had decided not to tell family for another week or so - with the exception of my Sister whom I have told today. She had asked me to go to several events with her, that I cannot due to both this pregnancy and a few other health related matters. When she found out, her reaction was unpleasant. She made a sound as if she was disgusted and then called me “problematic”. (For context, I am not on speaking terms with a couple of family members due to them taking advantage of me and constant disrespectful behaviours). I don’t even get why this has anything to do with the news. I am currently feeling regret in telling her. Maybe I am being sensitive but I do not feel her reaction was called for.

It sounds like she is jealous of you. Is she able to get pregnant herself? Is she single? For that reaction is very horrible. Why is she not happy for you? And well done to you for recognising when people are being toxic towards you even if they are family.

@Thea She has two kids, one of which turned 1 this year. She is also in a relationship with the father of the 1 year old.

Okay, so it’s not the fact that she wants to be pregnant, but there must be an underlying reason. I’m sorry that she is not giving you the support that you deserve at a time like this. All you need is love and everyone should be happy for you. Just make sure you protect yourself and don’t let any negativity get to you. ❤️

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy. Not knowing what your relationship with your sister is like, I would ask her why she made the comment - you shouldn’t be tolerating disrespect from her also! It was an unpleasant thing to say in response to being informed of such wonderful news.

Girl don’t worry I didn’t tell a soul I was pregnant with my first until after he was born with my second pregnancy I told everyone when I found out the gender both are from my husband i would do it again for peace. Like ur self I had a lot of health concerns and was living far away hence to why I could but this also ment I didn’t have the support I needed

Pregnancy is hard as it is you don’t need the extra stress my advice to you is avoid stressing your self out don’t tell people that don’t need to know just tell the people that would help and support you if you needed it your baby feels everything ur feeling drop me a message if you just want to rant or you could give me a call
