What is this rash…

My 18mo has this rash on his leg. I’m going to call the pediatrician but does anyone have any idea what this might be? It’s gotten a lot worse in 2 days.

Have you switched out anything recently? Like new diapers or laundry detergent? It could be an allergic reaction to something. It could also be eczema, keratosis, or heat rash! Does it seem to be bothering him at all?

@Annika thank you so much for responding! We haven’t used anything new or different lately. And we’re in Delaware so the weather is pretty cold lately. I’m hoping it’s just eczema, I’ve never seen it as a rash like that so that makes me feel a little better. I always jump to the worst possible scenario, like scabies or something! 😂😭

Definitely keep it hydrated with lotion and see if it helps any! Another thing i just thought of is that it could be a viral rash. Has he been sick recently? Babies get all sorts of rashes it sucks but it's definitely not scabies 😂 both my kids have keratosis and it acts up really bad in the summer and winter 😩

@Annika YES!! My oldest started preschool this year & has brought home colds 3 times already. So the whole house just got over yet another sickness last week. My husband put some fungal cream on it this morning & said it seemed to help? So I’m not sure what exactly that means but I guess it’s good something is working

@Angelica viral rashes are super annoying but usually go away on their own pretty quickly thankfully! I've read that hydrocortisone cream can help!
