Cough for 2 months

My little boy has had a cough since the start of October, so about 2 months now. It's mostly at night, but sometimes in the day as well. This past week it's been getting worse, more coughing both day and night, had a fever for 2 days (it's gone now, sleep has been absolutely horrible,he's quite irritable and clingy, eats much less than usual, all he wants to do is breastfeed almost all day long (mostly for comfort, as I don't think he's actually actively drinking anything much).. We've been to the doctors 3 times, every time they just say it's viral and almost want to get us out the room as fast as they can 🙄 Anyone else been through this or have any idea what could be wrong? Would it be worth ringing 111 just to get another option?
