Visitation

My kid's dad has a girlfriend and she has a few kids. They have recently had a mental health crisis over there with one of the kids...they broke up and got back together...during the time they were broke up dad did not visit with the kids. It was his weekend and his fall break. I messaged, offering to meet for visits during his scheduled time but he did not visit. A week after they got back together he wants to visit (after informing me that the GF and at least one kid was suicidal). I refused unsupervised and offered to meet at a playground instead. He refused. A couple weeks later the GF messages me asking why I am not allowing visits. I didn't want to tell her that the mental health plays a part so just told her that he refused to see the kids unless he is in a relationship with her so I was giving him time to figure things out...am I wrong? My children are little and I have had to pick them up early once before due to a child self harming...am I wrong for insisting on supervised visits for a while? Like I don't want unsupervised until some supervised visits have occurred and the mental health has been addressed (the child was hospitalized and has since been released on new meds but i do not know qbout the mom)...no court ordered visits.

You go to family court and file for custody and supervised visitation because there is someone in the house who is a danger to themselves. You resort the mother to CPS. You do NOT answer the girlfriend on anything because that’s not her place. This honestly isn’t a matter of him not wanting to visit unless he’s with her, and more a matter that there is someone in the house who is dangerous to themselves. CPS will see it differently than them trust me. And that will help your court case.
