I loved my doula but unfortunately she moved to Boston. I really encourage you to get educated in other ways. Whether it be employing a doula, attending a local hypnobirthing class, or just reading and listening to as much birth literature as possible. A hospital birth class will NOT educate you. Podcasts •Down to Birth Show •Birthing Instincts Books: •Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth •Childbirth without Fear •Husband Coached Childbirth (my husband was obsessed with this one). If you plan to birth in a hospital I would definitely get a doula who is unaffiliated with the hospital and dedicated to making sure your wishes are honored if you aren’t in a place during labor to communicate strongly
I was looking forward to taking a couple of in person classes and they seem to be few and far between or 1:1 rather than group. But these two virtual options seems interesting. https://getboober.com/childbirth-classes/lactation-newborn-care https://hypnodoulamaeva.com
