You can start drinking from 32 weeks, starting with 1 cup/day and increasing to 2 and then 3 cups. I ordered some from Hot Tea Mama which I had last time and they have 25% off for Black Friday. It depends on yourself though and whether you like it and they say if you think it’s causing braxton hicks (which it shouldn’t and is common anyways to have regardless of tea) to stop.

I’ve heard so so many people say how amazing this is and how it really helps a short labour. Is it as good as everyone is making out? X

I started at 30 weeks with my first.

@Kelly I was induced and had 16 hours labour so I'm not sure 😁

Ahh! Mixed reviews then!😅

I don’t know if to go for the tea or get the capsule tablets as I’ve heard the drink is rank🤣

The tea does taste disgusting 🤣 but it’s recommended from 32 weeks x

32w onwards 🫶🏼

@Kelly it varies and research is not conclusive on how it helps (thought to ‘tone’ the uterus and shorten the second phase of labour) but no harm in trying and if you like drinking it. I liked the hot tea mama one as it’s blended with peppermint tea. I did the tea and all the things they suggest with my first but she didn’t want to come out. Had an induction and then emcs due to meconium. However the time I was in labour I didn’t have much pain. It’s thought to shorten the second phase so only got to 6cm and can’t really comment due to the emcs. I also think it’s meant to have properties that aid the uterus and recovery and do think my recovery was good all considered. I also used it after a uterine surgery prior to pregnancy. So willing to give it a go again!

They say around 32 weeks is safest- just watch out for any cramps or pains following drinking the tea and if that does occur take a few days/week off from drinking it. It has no scientific backing to prove it can induce labour but ( like anything in pregnancy )if it’s causing pains or cramps then you should stop xx

Ahh okay! I mean I’ve had very little cramping and pains since my first trimester. I’ve had a very good pregnancy so I don’t particularly want to buy something that’s going to possibly bring on cramping you know? Maybe I’ll just stay clear and hope for the best 🤣 I’m a pretty calm and positive person so hopefully that will help! Xx
